So for 18 months, the Zero has been on the build trolley. This needed to change!Â
We ummed and aahed about it for quite some time. Wondering if we should have a BBQ with some friends and family and cheekily ask if they would give us a hand lifting the car off the trolley. Some fag-packet maths suggested it was probably only a 2 person lift right?
Kathryn and I had a crack at trying to pick up the back end between us. It soon transpired the fag-packet maths was just plain wrong (don't tell Matt's employer... Rolls Royce!)
We have a little field, and a local farmer puts some calves on it over the summer and he's always happy to do us a favour in return.
One lightbulb moment later and our friendly farmer is booked in to bring his John Deere around at the weekend when he's passing to fetch some sileage bales.
Matt raided the Land Rover's off-roading supplies for some lifting straps, which we used to go from the car's roll-bar to the tines on the tractor, and from the engine hoist to the chassis at the front of the car and 3 minutes (and very little effort) later - it's on the ground!
Reckon you could probably do it with a few people and an engine hoist - but if you've got a friendly farmer - would recommend giving them a call!
Up...
Up...
...and away!
Barely lifted a finger... well, ok... maybe 1
Wow, it looks small now it's on the ground!
