Over the build, we have splurged on a few nice bits. One of those nice bits was the billet aluminium ATR front end including the ridiculous (but very cool) big brakes!
We had the tyres put on the wheels by ATS (cheap deal on some Michelin Pilot Sport 3's) and at the time, thought nothing of where the wheel weights would need to sit.
D'oh, there isn't enough room between the brakes and the inside of the wheel for wheel weights, that's another we can chalk up to experience. Matt trundled off to the local tyre place to get the wheel weights moved from the front (where they're hitting the brake caliper) to the back edge of the wheel (where they don't hit the brake caliper!).
The ATR kit includes front hubs (off a Vauxhall Corsa we think) that come with female threads to take male wheel nut stud thingies.
We opted to put wheel stud converters in, so we could just buy a matching set of wheel nuts. Plenty of Locktite later, and they seem pretty well installed.
We had to cut these front studs down too - because, again, they only seem to be sold in lengths of either 'too short' or 'too long'. This is slightly problematic in that we have now cut off the allen socket in the end of them you use to insert or remove them.
I guess if we need to change the front hubs in future, we will have to just try and get the stud converters out or buy new ones.
GBS made us a nice pair of 10mm front wheel spacers in anodised aluminium to convert the ATR hub centres to our Sparco FF1 wheels.
GBS really are quite good at this bespoke manufacturing lark!
