"Will my bum even fit in there?"
When you start dry-fitting the interior panels, you start to notice how cosy the cockpit is going to be... Especially if you are a lady with hips. Jokes aside, Kathryn fits fine with room to spare, we measured!
We dry fitted the tunnel covers to get some dimensions for the fabric tunnel cover top that Intatrim are making us. This also allowed a chance to mark some holes and decide how we're going to fit the panels. We decided the passenger tunnel side will be rivnutted on. This will allow future access to things in the tunnel (like the speed sensor) when it inevitably doesn't work!
We added self adhesive foam to the chassis at the contact points of the removable panels. The last thing you want is anything to be rattling while you're bombing (at the speed limit obviously) down a nice country lane.
The next stage was to glue them on. We used masking tape on the back of the brake/fuels lines to ensure the glue couldn't adhere to them by mistake and you will notice the innovative use of welding magnets to try and stop the bottom of the panels kicking out while the glue cures.
We were glad all the interior panels just fitted, it made for a nice, neat simple job.
