Finally, something that just bolted in and fitted first time!
The GBS supplied fuse box is neat, pre-assembled and just fits. Next 'electriccery' step will be to run the loom properly and attach them to sensible places on the chassis. A job for later in the build...
The only downside is that now there are wires dangling everywhere!
Literally all over the place
Where to mount the ECU... decisions, decisions...
We know it wants to go under the scuttle somewhere and that it needs to be vaguely accessible and we also don't want to make any holes in our firewall as it will look a mess from the other side. We decided to make a plate that mounts on to the back of the fuse box and projects towards the drivers side so its hidden and out of the way. You may want to mount it on the passenger side but once its been tuned you probably won't ever mess with it again anyway. We also bent a bracket from some thinner aluminium that allows the plate to be supported by one of the firewall mounting studs. Simple but effective!
(You may notice that some of the parts in this photo haven't been got to in the build blog yet... but the question was asked in the Facebook group and we realised we hadn't written about it and we decided this was the best place for it to be added)
