Engine oil - semi-synthetic 10W40 (same as the Land Rover - very convenient!) There's not much to say really. Keep filling it up until it comes between the min/max lines on the dip stick.
The dip stick is a bugger to read so we found it best to leave it overnight for its final check as otherwise it picks up oil from the inside of dip stick tube following reinsertion.
As we had left the engine dry for 18 months we ran the engine up to temperature for 10 mins or so and then changed the oil again just to get rid of any corrosion etc that the oil picked up. It's worth noting that you need to make sure the mating surface is completely clean and smooth where the sump plug goes - ask us how we know...
Diff oil -semi-synthetic 75W90 - You just need a large syringe to make things easy. We put in as much as would fit until it came out of the fill hole as per the Haynes manual.
Gearbox oil... the same semi-synthetic 75W90 - You need a miracle! You also need a syringe, some tube and a good amount of strength! Again, we put in as much as would fit until it came out of the fill hole as per the Haynes manual.
We also took this opportunity to change the oil filter. The bog standard autofactor one we had was just a bit too close to the steering column linkage for our liking (2mm) and was a bugger to get off!
This one pictured fits with a lot more room to the steering column as it's probably half an inch shorter than the bog standard one. It's orange too so it matches the car! It was also a doddle to get on so will save some swearing down the line at the next oil change.
