Matt's always faffing about 3D printing. Whether it's parts for his Land Rover or bits and pieces to use as tools or fix something, there's rarely a day the printers aren't humming away in the background.
It's all drawn in Fusion 360 and either printed in resin in his Anycubic Photon Mono X resin printer or on his Anyvcubic Vyper FDM printer.
This little doohickey clamps to one of the chassis braces by the drivers knees and the socket for the steering wheel controls cable bolts into it. It's handy being able to make your own stuff!
This is the gear gator ring Matt has designed for the Zero. It fits the Mazda variant with no issues, theoretically should fit Ford ones too, but that can't be tested by us. It has a recess underneath to trap the gator in it.
It's designed to work with the below bolts from Pro Bolt, M5 with a 12mm diameter head - available in a variety of colours!

And the handbrake gator ring... Uses the same bolts as the gear gator ring above

We have opted to use 'hamburger' style rear lights:
The image shows the mounting pod we are going to use. The indicators are mounted to the wheel arches and the fog / reverse are mounted to the rear tub. The pods are slightly different to account for the different angles in the respective mounting locations though the indicator pods do still require some fettling to get the perfect fit against the car

We decided to design a new cowl (see 57. Steering wheel controls and new cowl ) because we didn't like the Mazda column surround and stalks.
The Cowl was a bit of a beast to model. Matt's not going to put the files on here, cos it was a lot of effort... If you are interested, drop us a message to projectzero@doveview.co.uk
It was eventually printed on the resin printer out of ABS like resin. It's holding up quite well!
We also made a handbrake lock (see 55. First tweaks)
Printed from resin, it's pretty chunky and locks into the finger grooves on the handbrake. It stops you being able to push the release switch, so hopefully deters the opportunistic thief that wants to take the handbrake off and roll the car away.
Again, a lot of effort to model and perfect, if you are interested, drop us a message to projectzero@doveview.co.uk
