A nice milestone, get those super pricey ATR throttle bodies out of their bag and on to the car!
One thing to note for the Mazda is that you still need an inlet manifold gasket. The throttle bodies don't come with O-rings (even though they do for a Ford) .
A few seconds of struggling with an Allen key and it soon became apparent that you have to dismantle them to install them!
We bought a set of injector blanking plugs from GBS. They are nicely made and have O-rings on them for a good seal. These blank off the original injector ports as the fuel is now injected into the throttle bodies themselves. There is some science behind this that I would only be pretending to understand. Some maniacs leave the original injectors in and add ones in the throttle bodies. Injecting fuel closer to the cylinders can give you better top end power and further away in the bodies - better low end power. Sounds like hocus pocus to me!
These are a very nicely made product, they incorporate a throttle position sensor and all the linkages come pre-assembled ready to just drop in. Pretty competitively priced too really!
The filter backplate comes with a hole ready drilled for the intake temperature sensor too.
The only thing to note is that if you go for the big foam air filter (as we did), you will need 3x 25mm Dzus clips. These clip onto the backplate and then the pins included with the filter go into them making you an quick release filter element.
