To say it looked like a bird had nested in the car was an understatement where the loom was concerned. It was certainly a daunting task. We wisely decided we would buy the GBS plug and play loom so everything was laid out and labelled up as well as you could have hoped(ish). That being said some of the connectors were incorrect and a couple missing altogether. Matt is pretty nifty when it comes to automotive wiring so that task was not as major as it could have been and under instruction even Kathryn managed to make some cables up.
Helpful tip - buy lots (and I mean LOTS) of cable ties!
Dispatch Kathryn to the Shazda with wire cutters (grin on face) in search of the ingnition wiring.
Crimp some connectors on...
Figure out the magic order and insert into the loom connector.
Thank you GBS facebook group
2x white+red (white)--> red

black+red - not used
Ours is a mk2.5 - mk2 colours shown in brackets
Cam and crank sensor go into one connector on the loom - we thought this would have been done for us as part of the loom, but it wasn't.
Once again, dispatch Kathryn to the Shazda with wire cutters (still wearing a grin - now mildly concerning) to locate the cam connector and the VVT connector (both AWOL). Many innocent connectors were harmed in the search as we (Matt) couldn't find the remnants of the engine loom to start with so we looked elsewhere for matching ones in the car.
Helpful tip - no more exist in the car
Fortunately we (Kathryn) found the missing loom, but had we not they are £15 each on eBay so dont misplace them!
VVT sensor - polarity no significant
